The victory over Chelsea was merely a fleeting highlight for Manchester United, it seems. Heading into their sixth Premier League matchday at Brentford’s home ground, the Red Devils suffered a 3-1 loss, further slipping down the standings. After stunning Chelsea the previous week, fans hoped for momentum under Ruben Amorim—but instead, United returned to defeat and now sit in 13th place.
Early Disaster Sets the Tone
The game couldn’t have started worse for United. Just in the 8th minute, they fell behind thanks to a stunning finish from Thiago. Brentford doubled their lead in the 20th minute with Thiago striking again, this time from close range after a cross from Sande and a failed clearance by Badiashile.
A few minutes later, in the 26th minute, Sesko managed a double effort to pull one back, narrowing the score to 2-1 and injecting some hope into the United camp.
