Olympiacos claimed their fourth consecutive Super Cup title this year, defeating Promitheas 92-83 in a decisive victory. Despite opting out of the tournament, Panathinaikos extended heartfelt congratulations to their eternal rivals via a social media post.
The Greens had withdrawn from the competition due to a demanding schedule, fresh off a long-haul flight from Australia to Athens following the Pavlos Giannakopoulos tournament. Yet, they remained engaged with the event, demonstrating sportsmanship by publicly acknowledging Olympiacos’ success.
In their official message, Panathinaikos stated: “Congratulations to Olympiacos, winners of the Super Cup.” The post featured a photo from the trophy presentation ceremony.
Here’s the tweet: “Congratulations to the Super Cup Winners, @Olympiacos_BC! #SuperCup #RhodesIsland” — Posted by Panathinaikos BC (@Paobcgr) on September 27, 2025.
